Tantalite coltan ore crystals

Mineral

Coltan · Ta2O6

Tantalite ore

Coltan is used primarily for the production of tantalum capacitors — found in mobile phones and almost every class of electronic device, including refractive lenses for glasses, cameras, phones, and printers. It is also used in semiconductor circuits and capacitors for compact devices such as hearing aids and pacemakers, as well as in computer hard drives and automobile electronics.

Coltan is also used to make high-temperature alloys for jet engines, air-based turbines, and land-based turbines. From the late 2000s, nickel-tantalum super-alloys used in jet engines have accounted for a material share of tantalum consumption, with aerospace programmes able to lift that proportion further.

Electronics companies that have used coltan include Acer, AMP, Apple, Canon, Dell, and HP.

Raw blue tanzanite crystals

Gemstone

Ca2Al3(SiO4)3(OH)

Tanzanite

Tanzanite formed around 585 million years ago during the mid-Ediacaran period, through massive plate-tectonic activity and intense heat in the area that would later become Mount Kilimanjaro.

The mineral sits in a relatively complex geological environment. That rarity is the point: DJASER holds origin access and offers the stone through the same direct, documented supply path as our industrial minerals.

Stacked copper cathode sheets

Metal

Cu

Copper

Copper is one of the few native metals — metals that occur naturally in a directly usable, unalloyed metallic form. That property led to very early human use in several regions from around 8000 BC. Thousands of years later, it was the first metal to be smelted.

Copper is widely used in electrical wiring, plumbing, electronics, roofing, industrial machinery, renewable energy systems, transportation, and coinage because of its high conductivity, corrosion resistance, and durability.

Roasted Ugandan coffee beans

Agriculture

Coffea canephora · Coffea arabica

Ugandan coffee

Ugandan coffee is known for bold Robusta and bright, fruity Arabica, grown across diverse regions and increasingly available as specialty, traceable beans.

Uganda produces both Robusta (Coffea canephora) and Arabica (Coffea arabica). DJASER treats coffee with the same origin discipline as our mineral book: direct source, documented movement, and FOB delivery to solvent buyers.
